We are looking for a new Artistic Director!
POSITION TITLE: Artistic Director
JOB OVERVIEW:
Copious Love Productions is seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative Artistic Director to curate our productions for this and future seasons. The Artistic Director will play a key role in guiding the creative development of the company and fostering a vibrant, supportive environment for our staff and artists. The Artistic Director should be committed to promoting new works within our community. This individual will work closely with the Board of Directors to align artistic goals with the company's mission and long-term vision.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Curate Productions
Oversee the process of selecting plays and projects for each season, including reviewing submissions for our Plays on Tap series
Curate a season of new works by local playwrights, with a special emphasis on discovering fresh voices and innovative storytelling
Grant Writing
Write the main body of grant applications to secure funding for current and upcoming seasons with budget content provided by the Business Manager
Collaborate with the Board of Directors
Work closely with the Board and the Business Manager to ensure the artistic vision aligns with the mission and financial goals of the organization
Artist Development
Foster a culture of mentorship by supporting and collaborating with emerging playwrights, directors, and artists (Offer constructive feedback and guidance to help develop their work)
Casting, Hiring & Production Oversight
Support casting for productions, ensuring representation of historically marginalized and underrepresented communities as in alignment with Copious Love’s mission
Oversee the hiring of key creative staff such as directors, designers, and technical personnel
Support all stages of production, from conceptualization through performance, supporting all artists and providing a human-centered approach to working with all involved
Community Engagement
Cultivate and nurture relationships with the local artistic community to build strong, lasting partnerships
Fundraising & Development
Assist with fundraising efforts by collaborating with the Board and Business Manager to ensure the financial health of the company
Engage in donor relations and help create events that promote the company’s work
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in theater production, direction, or related field, with an understanding of both creative and administrative aspects of a small theater company
Strong passion for supporting new work, particularly by local playwrights, and a deep commitment to cultivating new voices in theater
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, mentor, and collaborate with a wide range of artists and staff
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse groups and audiences
Familiarity with fundraising and development practices, with grant writing experience appreciated
A strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring that the voices of marginalized and underrepresented communities are heard
EXPECTATIONS & COMPENSATION:
Start Date: Spring 2025
Time Commitment: Approximately 30 hours per month
Compensation: $4,000 annual stipend divided into monthly installments

We are also looking for a new Business Manager!
POSITION TITLE: Business Manager
JOB OVERVIEW:
Copious Love Productions is seeking an experienced Business Manager to oversee the financial and administrative operations of the company. This role will be responsible for managing the company’s finances, operations, and records. While this position is focused on administrative tasks, it is also about collaboration. Our ideal candidate will be excited to contribute ideas to shaping the future of the company and driven to make this role their own.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Budget and Finance Management
Develop and maintain the company’s annual budget in collaboration with the Artistic Director and the Board of Directors
Track expenses and manage cash flow and incoming grant funds through organizations such as 4Culture, Shunpike, etc.
Ensure the company stays within budgetary guidelines
Financial Reporting & Taxes
Prepare and file all tax-related documents, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
Provide regular financial reports to the Board to inform decision-making in future planning for Copious
Fundraising Support
Assist with fundraising efforts by tracking incoming funds and sponsorships, and supporting the Board in administrative organization of fundraising events
Membership Renewal & Management
Oversee the renewal process for all theater memberships (TPS, Zoom, Google Suites, etc.) including processing payments and maintaining records
Records & File Maintenance
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for the company, including contracts, financial documents, membership files, and correspondence
Organize and archive materials in a manner that ensures they are easily accessible and secure
Collaborate with the Artistic Director
Work closely with AD to ensure the artistic vision aligns with the mission and financial goals of the organization
Review artist and venue contracts and process payments
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in business or financial management, ideally within a nonprofit or arts organization
Strong understanding of accounting principles, budgeting, taxes, and financial reporting, and openness to learning more
Organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively
Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact openly with a wide range of people, including staff, Board members, donors, and community partners
Experience in managing records and archives in a nonprofit environment
Proficiency with financial software (QuickBooks or similar), Google Drive, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
Familiarity with fundraising and development practices preferred, but not required
A strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring that the voices of marginalized and underrepresented communities are heard
EXPECTATIONS & COMPENSATION:
Start Date: Immediate
Time Commitment: 5-10 hours per month, flexible schedule. This position can be done almost 100% remotely.
Compensation: $2,000 annual stipend divided into monthly installments

Play Submissions
PLAYS ON TAP
Plays On Tap is our bi-monthly quick and dirty playreading series that provides playwrights the opportunity to hear their work read out loud by professional actors. Six playwrights will be invited to join this program, which includes a 4-hour rehearsal process and a public reading at a local bar, followed by a community talkback. Whether you’re a seasoned play submitter or brand new to the world of playwriting, we welcome your submission!
Eligibility:
Must be Pacific Northwest-based and available to attend the reading.
Plays can have no more than one production (readings, workshops, and developmental productions don’t count).
5 actor limit. Can have more characters, but doublecasting plan must be included.
We can’t accept musicals at this time.

2025 Plays On Tap submissions will open sometime in Spring 2025. Please check back for more information.
RESIDENCY
This year, we are offering a new program called the Copious Love Productions Playwriting Residency, which provides a playwright and director a full weekend long workshop with professional actors. More information coming soon.

Acting
We always love to expand our theatre family, and accept headshots and resumes year round. We seek to build a strong community of theatre artists who enjoy working on new plays, and continue to hold actors in mind for future projects and paid opportunities.
